I was really searching for a routine that didn't depend on lunges or hard on the knee activities and that is what this book does. I know I'm weak and out of shape. I've learned to start at a minimum level and it worked with this book. I'm gaining strength without injury after about three weeks of using the routines. If you are in great shape I'm not sure you need this book, but for most of us it is reasonable, though I don't always get three days a week. There was also a learning curve which slows the first few times you do the routine--it took over an hour with checking the instructions carefully (necessary not to get hurt!). Still, I would highly recommend if you have knee concerns.
I find this book very helpful. The instructions and photos are very clear and easy to follow. I like that the author draws from many disciplines in her approach.
A little basic for me but is a good book for someone just starting out and wanting to get into an exercise program that will help them and that they can stick with.
Good guide for keeping fit
I'm not quite 50, but I found this book to be informative. A lot of time is spent on stretching exercises, but there is plenty of exercises to get the beginner started. A great book to get you started or back into weight lifting.
So many seniors would benefit from the simple exercises introduced in this book. They require minimal equipment and will help preserve or improve mobility and Independence.
